ECRI is an international non-profit organization working to improve the safety, quality and cost-effectiveness of care in all healthcare institutions around the world. It was founded in 1968 in the United States, and today has research centers and offices in the United Kingdom, the United Arab Emirates and Malaysia.

As a non-profit, independent organization, ECRI utilizes an unbiased, evidence-based approach to develop guidance, and maintain principles of integrity and transparent work. Their ethical standards led them to adopt the industry’s strictest conflict-of-interest policies, and they are why tens of thousands of healthcare leaders worldwide rely on ECRI to guide their clinical, operational, and strategic decisions across all sites of care.

ECRI makes the results of its independent analyzes available through a series of products and services that can be consulted online that refer to three main areas:

Technology decision making

Evidence-based medicine

Patient safety and quality

Recognizing shared mission ECRI and Verlab have become partners in June 2021. Verlab collaborates with ECRI for the development of activities in Bosnia and Herzegovina and other European countries (Albania, Croatia, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, Slovenia and Kosovo*).
